Cakes, who doesn’t love them? I have an easy sponge cake recipe that I know you will love, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Am I wrong?
Preheat your oven to 200°C
Grease the tin with butter then coat it with a bit of flour for easy removal after the cake is baked.
Sift the flour and the baking powder using a sieve and set aside in a bowl (we want our cake to be smooth and spongy).
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add room-temperature eggs one at a time, allowing each egg to blend into butter mixture
Add in vanilla essence.
Pour in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing until just incorporated.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Put it in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Poke the center of the cake with a toothpick or a knife and if it comes out clean, your cake is ready!!
